Run, walk, or ride and be a part of the #PVASWagAThon to fund our Hurricane Hanna Recovery! The PVAS team has a goal of raising $30,000 throughout the month of August to make much-needed repairs to our Trenton Center roof. Help us #RaiseTheRoof and keep all of the animals in our care safe and dry!

You can be a part of the change: Walk, run, or ride with us to save our shelter! Track your miles and collect pledges. We have awards for the Top Fundraiser for teams and individuals, and the Top Donation. The Wag-A-Thon kicks off on August 1, and goes all the way through August 31!

About Us

Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal welfare organization serving six municipalities in Hidalgo County, as well as the county at-large. PVAS operates two facilities in Edinburg, TX, taking in approximately 25,000 animals on behalf of 775,000 residents each year. PVAS is on a journey to reach “no-kill” status, broadly defined as saving 90% or more of the animals that enter into our care.

Learn more about “no-kill” sheltering here.

PVAS accepts all stray and surrendered companion animals regardless of age, health, or breed, making us the largest intake facility in Hidalgo County, and one of the largest intake facilities in the country.

Our Mission

“Palm Valley Animal Society will provide lifesaving care, comfort, and compassion to animals in need by engaging the hearts, hands, and minds of our community.”

Our Goals

PVAS’ goal is to save every animal that can be saved through progressive adoption, foster care, and rescue transfer programs. PVAS offers a number of additional programs designed to help pets in the shelter, in the community, and in your home, including volunteer, fee-reduction, and veterinary services programs.
